Popolini has recently introduced in its range of washable nappies a new type of size nappy with “pouch” or “All-In-3” system. The new Easyfree nappy is structured in the opposite way compared to the most common washable nappies: the outer cover is in fact made of cotton and the waterproof part is inside, where it welcomes the absorbent inserts like a sort of “pouch”. It is a small size nappy designed especially for daytime use. The peculiarity of Esayfree is that it includes a cotton band to be hooked at the waist, useful for those who want to practice Elimination Communication (bring the newborn to do their needs by catching the anticipatory signals, learn more in the blog<\/a>).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

How Easyfree Popolini pouch is made<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The Easyfree washable nappy is available in 3 sizes<\/strong>: S (~ 2.5-5 kg), M (~ 5-10 kg) and L (~ 9-15kg) and consists of 4 elements.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

1) External cover<\/strong>: it is in soft 100% organic cotton with reinforced side barriers, it fits comfortably without marking on the thighs or belly. It closes at the hips with Velcro, unlike most washable nappies that have a closure in front: in this way you avoid tightening the belly when the baby is sitting.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

2) Waterproof pouch<\/strong>: it is made of breathable <\/strong>PUL (polyester with polyurethane), it retains moisture avoiding leakage to the outside and thanks to the side barriers it also contains liquid stools well. The absorbent inserts are placed in the pouch. It attaches to the inside of the cover with snap buttons.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

3) Absorbent insert with pocket<\/strong>: it is the part that absorbs the pee. The insert attaches to the pouch with snap buttons. The part in contact with the skin is in organic cotton<\/em> terry, while the inner core is in viscose and polyester<\/em>. The insert is provided with a pocket in which you place any other inserts (not included) to strengthen the absorbency; however the additional inserts can also be simply placed, without necessarily inserting them into the pocket.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

4) “Nappyfree” band<\/strong>: if you want, you can attach this cotton band to the cover – using the special hooks – to “tie” the nappy to the baby’s belly. This way you can quickly open and close the nappy with one hand while you place the baby on the toilet or sink to make him pee or poop.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

As with all other types of washable nappies, a liner<\/a><\/strong> can be placed in contact with the skin to easily remove the bulk of the poop. When changing nappies, the absorbent insert is washed and the pouch and the cotton cover are reused; in the case of liquid stools, it is likely that the pouch will also need to be washed.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
